During the past one week, Azerbaijan has been constantly spreading false information to create a base so that it can present its own provocative actions as pre-emptive actions of the Armenian side. Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan said this in the National Assembly of Armenia Wednesday, referring to the reasons for recent frequent shootings by the Azerbaijani side.

"The Ministry of Defense [of Armenia] always issues proper statements, and presents to our public what happens on the border. The reason for all this is the goals of the Azerbaijani side to show that [as if] the Armenian side has a trend to certain aggressive actions; there is no such thing. The Armenian side will continue to advance the peace agenda at the negotiating table in accordance with all the statements we have made, also protecting the sovereign territory of our country," said Papikyan.

At around 11:45am Wednesday, the armed forces of Azerbaijan opened fire in the direction of the metallurgical plant being built with foreign investment in Yeraskh village of Armenia’s Ararat Province. As a result, two Indian citizens were wounded.
