The representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have visited the two Azerbaijani servicemen who had illegally crossed the border of Armenia and were arrested. Zara Amatuni, the Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the ICRC Armenia office, informed Armenian News-NEWS.am about this.

They were given the opportunity to contact their families.

These Azerbaijani soldiers had illegally crossed the border of Armenia from Nakhichevan on April 7. On April 12, Husein Akhundov, one of these servicemen, had shot Hayrapet Meliksetyan, an employee of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, several times with a rifle, killing him. In the court, Akhundov had pleaded guilty and repented; the trial is ongoing.

And the other Azerbaijani soldier was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
