Armen Ashotyan, vice-chairman of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), has been detained on the basis of violating the terms of the restraining order in the framework of the criminal proceedings being investigated into the apparent misuse committed at Yerevan State Medical University. Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned about this from the spokesperson of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan.

Abrahamyan added that investigative actions were being carried out with Ashotyan at the moment.

"Later, the Investigative Committee of Armenia will provide information to the public with specific details and facts," the committee spokesperson said.
