The Hayakve initiative group received a response from the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia to its petition to collect 50,000 signatures and submit a law initiative to the National Assembly.

The CEC decided to grant the petition at its meeting on Tuesday.

A 60-day period, from June 21 to August 19, has been set for the aforesaid signature campaign.

The Hayakve initiative group had submitted its aforesaid petition to the CEC on June 12.

This group makes a proposal to amend Armenia’s law in order to provide a severe punishment for refusing the self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh and belittling the significance of the Armenian Genocide.
