After the 44-day war of 2020, Azerbaijan has doubled the number of its special units, is reorganizing its military units according to NATO standards, and new standards for conducting battle are being set. Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition "With Honor" Faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and a security expert, wrote about this on Facebook.
"The information being obtained from various open sources, the training of ‘Commandos,’ and the study of new military units being formed show that 18-20 th[ousand] [Azerbaijani] soldiers have been trained within the framework of the reforms being implemented with Turkey.
"At the same time, a large number of servicemen, who are not included in the number I noted, also undergo education and training programs in the military education institutions of Azerbaijan and various countries.
"How is it that Armenia’s authorities are promoting fake pacifism inside the country, various figures of the [Armenian] authorities talk to Turks and Azerbaijanis about brotherhood and its benefits on a daily basis, whereas the president of Azerbaijan openly declares that in international relations, strength, not international right solves the issue and announces the reforms of the [Azerbaijani] armed forces, including the special forces, and the sharp increase in military imports?
"Azerbaijan proposes a policy of harsh measures for the surrender the RA authorities," the Armenian opposition MP added.
