Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] President Arayik Harutyunyan had a closed meeting with Artsakh MPs yesterday in the NA [(National Assembly)]; the meeting lasted about 2 hours.

Zhoghovurd daily has learned new details from the closed meeting between Harutyunyan and Artsakh MPs. We were informed that during the meeting, security issues were discussed, as well as legislative drafts, the president presented the implementation process of the 2022 plan, and also answered the questions of the MPs.

As the Artsakh sources of Zhoghovurd daily informed, Arayik Harutyunyan was quite depressed, he made vague and not encouraging statements regarding the future fate of Artsakh, the blocking of roads [by Azerbaijan].

Arayik Harutyunyan specifically said that there is nothing in their hands, they should fight, raise their voices, but the key to solving the problem is not in their hands. The MPs asked Harutyunyan whether he is aware of what Armenia’s authorities are negotiating [with Azerbaijan], whether he is in contact with them. Although not directly, Harutyunyan made it clear that they are not informing him either about the negotiations.

The MPs understood from Harutyunyan's words that he also no longer puts any hopes on Armenia’s authorities, Artsakh's future is uncertain, they should put their hopes only on themselves.

As for the Russian peacekeepers [in Artsakh], Arayik Harutyunyan assured that they also want the problem to be solved soon, but, on the other hand, they cannot enter into a direct confrontation with the Azerbaijanis; their mission is to keep the peace.
