A few days ago, sporadic shots—from small arms—were fired from the Azerbaijani combat position towards Chankatagh village of the Martakert Region of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh); as a result, several houses were damaged. Artsakhpress visited this rural community and got familiarized—on the spot—with the prevailing moods among the local residents and the everyday life of this village after the aforementioned incident.

"Shooting continued even in the night hours; they were shooting with firearms. Roofs of houses have been damaged. The enemy is trying in every way to create a climate of fear, but we are not going to leave the village and head off. We are ready to face any actions of the enemy. This is how we raise our children so that they be patriotic and fearless. Even under the shooting, we continue the lesson process at the school," said Vrezh Khachatryan, a resident of Chankatagh.

Another local resident, Greta Gharibyan, told Artsakhpress that the roof of the building in their yard was damaged during the shots fired from the Azerbaijani combat positions.

"The shots were quite strong. We were all at home; at first we were scared, then when everything calmed down, we relaxed," Gharibyan said.

She noted that they have sown various crops in their vegetable gardens, despite the fact that her house is under the direct fire of Azerbaijanis, and the latter can shoot again any time.
