Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday received Iranian Ambassador Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the latter’s foreign ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
FM Mirzoyan, noting that Ambassador Zohouri’s term of office in Armenia coincided with a very difficult period for the country, highly appreciated his efforts in deepening mutual understanding and relations between Armenia and Iran, and wished him success in his future diplomatic work.
The interlocutors discussed various agenda matters of Armenian-Iranian cooperation, noting with mutual satisfaction the high level of political dialogue between the two countries. It was emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries stems from the imperative to face regional challenges, as well as from the historically formed friendly ties between the two peoples.
The willingness to maintain the positive dynamics of high-level mutual visits and periodic consultations between foreign ministries of Armenia and Iran was reaffirmed, too. The steps aimed at the implementation of economic programs of mutual interest as well as the use of the existing potential for the promotion of bilateral trade were highlighted.
Reference was made also to the vision of the two countries to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus and to the respective efforts.
