Iran’s new ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, met with Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian to discuss his work plan as he officially starts his respective mission, IRNA reported.

During the meeting on Sunday, the ambassador was tasked with advancing bilateral relations and forging closer cooperation across various sectors before embarking on his mission.

FM Amir-Abdollahian reiterated the Iranian government's policy of prioritizing relations with neighboring countries.
