Medicine supply in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is in a critical state; even the possibility of small batches that happens from time to time is not a solution to the problem at all. Health minister Anahit Avanesyan told this to reporters in the National Assembly of Armenia, in connection with the consequences of the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh.

"Even today, planned operations and interventions are postponed as much as possible so that emergency medical care can be provided," she noted.

"Regarding the number of [medical] patients [in Artsakh] who need to be transferred [to Armenia], we are in daily contact with both specialists and hospitals. And as soon as a ‘window’ is created, these transfers are carried out in a unified manner," Avanesyan said.
