Former secretary of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan, his son, and cousin have been detained.

Balasanyan was taken into custody from his home in Askeran city, demonstratively by men in masks and wringing his hands.

They searched his house for 40 minutes.

Balasanyan's was taken to the Artsakh National Security Service, and now he is in the prosecutor's office.

The Artsakh prosecutor's office discussed the report submitted by the Artsakh Village and Agriculture Support Fund to the Artsakh Prosecutor General’s Office, which revealed that by the decision of the board of trustees of this fund, 74,500,000 drams were provided to A. B., a resident of Askeran city, under a targeted loan agreement in order to purchase bee colonies. However, this money was used by A. B. in a non-targeted manner, as a result of which the state suffered a large loss. This is stated by the Artsakh Prosecutor General’s Office, referring to the accusation of Vitaly Balasanyan's son.

Considering that the materials contain features of a crime—misuse of the loan—under the Artsakh Criminal Code, a criminal case has been launched.
