Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with the European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels on Friday, Azerbaijani media report.
“At the meeting, Aliyev expressed gratitude to Michel for his efforts to normalize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Aliyev also noted that the "Brussels format is effective," Azerbaijani leader's website says.
During the meeting, Aliyev and Michel exchanged views on the upcoming trilateral meeting on July 15 with the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as on peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On July 14, Aliyev arrived in Brussels on a working visit.
A trilateral meeting between the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of the European Council and the President of Azerbaijan is scheduled for July 15.
