Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Andrey Rudenko on Monday met with the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia, Polad Bulbuloglu. This is noted in a statement posted on the website of the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RF MFA).

"During the conversation, the situation in the South Caucasus, the process of reconciliation between Baku and Yerevan were discussed. The Russian side has confirmed the need for the complete and immediate unblocking of the Lachin corridor, the restoration of transport links along it in both directions, in accordance with the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, as well as the creation of conditions for normal life in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"In connection with the incorrect comments of the Azerbaijan MFA in relation to the statement of the RF MFA of July 15 of this year, it was emphasized that the Russian Federation has always respected and treated the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is fully committed to the letter and spirit of the bilateral declaration on allied cooperation and to the letter. At the same time, this does not eliminate the problem of comprehensively promoting the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, solving all agenda issues, including ensuring the rights and security of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, exclusively through peaceful political and diplomatic methods.

"The Russian side has confirmed its readiness to organize a tripartite meeting of foreign ministers [of Armenia and Azerbaijan] in Moscow in the near future to discuss the ways of implementing the agreements at the highest level, including the matter of agreement on the peace treaty, which will be followed by the summit of the heads of states. Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia will sign the noted document in Moscow," the Russian MFA statement reads, in particular.
