Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes. The previous night, Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] President Arayik Harutyunyan announced in a video message that he is starting a sit-in at [capital] Stepanakert's Renaissance Square.

"This is an additional effort to attract the attention of the international community, to urge the international community to obligate to fulfill its obligations, to impel the Armenian people, and all our friends to active and immediate actions," he said, and added that if the situation of the people of Artsakh does not return to a more or less normal course within a week with international intervention, then after that they will resort to tougher actions; and what kind, he did not elaborate.

After the President's video message, an urgent consultation was called at the president of the [Artsakh] parliament, Artur Tovmasyan, with the participation of the heads of all [parliamentary] factions and some MPs. And already after midnight, around 1 o'clock, they all together visited Arayik Harutyunyan, who was staging a sit-in at the [aforesaid] square, trying to understand why he expects that can move the conscience of the world with that step. Harutyunyan said that there is no other way, he wrote letters to everyone, there is no response, the situation is complicated, so he decided to attract attention in this way. The opposition members implied that first of all it is necessary to demand from the RA authorities.

The President noted that in his video message it is clearly being said that this step is also aimed at the RA authorities. They asked what further harsh measures the president insinuated, but Harutyunyan did not open the brackets, noting only that they have thought of other actions as well; for a start, maybe a hunger strike and so on.
