Captain of Irish squad Robbie Keane is likely to miss the match against Armenia. On Saturday national team’s manager Giovanni Trapattoni said Keane will undergo examination.

On Sunday it was revealed that the problem is an abductor-muscle injury, the Guardian writes. Most likely, he will not play in the upcoming match.

The assistant manager, Marco Tardelli said Ireland is focused on this match against Armenia and wants to arrive in the play-offs. Tardelli also said Armenia is better in forwards and may make some mistakes in defense.

However, the daily recalls that to do that, Irish team has to put an end to Armenia’s run of three successive wins.

Earlier on Monday Armenian footballers took a charter flight to Dublin, the place for the crucial game.

The Irish national team, with head coach Giovanni Trapattoni, will face Armenia, under head coach Vardan Minasyan, at Dublin’s 51-thousand-capacity Aviva Stadium, which is one of the world’s most modern sports grounds.
