Numerous articles in the Irish press testify journalists are impressed by Armenian national football team coach Vardan Minasyan.

“The man who juggles the international job with his role as coach of old club Pyunik for a combined salary of €50,000 per year [while Giovanni Trapattoni is paid € 2 million], is gaining a reputation as one of the most impressive young managers in international football,” writes Irish Independent.

Irish Examiner notes Minasyan pays much attention to the details adding Minasyan "combines all of that with the kind of obsessive attention to detail Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho would admire.” The newspaper writes that three goals kicked in Slovakia were result of Minasyan’s work.

“In reality, though, Minasyan had spent hours working out exactly how and where to hurt them,” the author says.

Another newspaper, the Irish Times, says Minasyan speaks English better than Trapattoni does.

“The 37-year-old Minasyan is a refined, well educated man who has shaped this team to his own liking,” the article reads.
