The Spanish chargé d'affaires in Azerbaijan, Patricia Serrano Sanchez, was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan, local media report.
Earlier, the Spanish embassy in Russia had announced its support for Armenian Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
The Azerbaijan MFA has condemned Spain for the aforesaid, calling it a provocation and "non-constructive" approach.
