At the initiative of Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, and in conjunction with the Ile-de-France, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie, Pays de la Loire, and Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azure regions of France, united in providing support to the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), have come together to provide urgent humanitarian aid to Artsakh, which has been besieged by Azerbaijan since December 12, 2022. This was reported by the embassy of Armenia in France.

The first truck carrying 20 tons from the French territorial authorities went from Armenia’s capital Yerevan to the border Kornidzor village area, where it joined the 21 trucks carrying essential items sent by the government of Armenia to the people of Artsakh. Since June 15, however, the armed forces of Azerbaijan have not allowed any movement through the checkpoint.

The 20 tons of aid being transported from France is only the first, small part of a larger convoy of trucks funded by the aforesaid French regions and cities. The start of the main convoy will be given at the end of August, under the leadership of a delegation of French MPs and local government leaders who support this humanitarian initiative being implemented for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
