An Iranian military delegation, led by the commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, has arrived in Moscow to discuss bilateral military cooperation, RIA Novosti reports, with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The official part of the bilateral talks took place at the main command of the Russian ground troops, where military cooperation and interaction were discussed regarding the implementation of projects aimed at increasing the combat readiness of the armed forces of the two countries.

"Iran is considered by the Russian Federation as one of the key states of the Middle East, it is a strategic partner of Russia, and constant intense political dialogue is a characteristic feature of the current phase of our partnership," said the commander of the Russian Ground Forces, General Oleg Salyukov.

Salyukov and Heydari agreed to increase cooperation.

During its trip to Moscow, the aforesaid Iranian delegation will visit the military training centers of the Russian Ground Forces and the enterprises of the Russian military industry.
