Azerbaijani MP Vugar Iskenderov has accused the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) of protecting the "interests of Armenians."

"Everyone knows that various international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, maintain double standards towards Azerbaijan, words do not correspond to actions. We noticed it in the case of missing persons," said the Azerbaijani lawmaker.

According to him, "the incident gives grounds to say that the ICRC is carrying out a crusade mission, hiding behind the principles of humanism," and ICRC employees have adopted "the ideology of the Crusades and build their work in this direction."

Iskenderov noted that the ICRC pursues only the interests of Armenia and Armenians, acting from their positions.

"As you can see, the ICRC serves the interests of those who bear their coat of arms; that is, the religious factor plays a key role in the position of this organization. In short, what happened gives grounds to say that the ICRC acts as a symbol of Crusaders, the committee thinks only about Armenians, serves their interests," the Azerbaijani MP said.
