Former US President Donald Trump will surrender to the authorities on Thursday, one day before the prosecution's deadline, CNN reported on Monday.

This date was agreed by the representatives of the former American leader with the district prosecutor's office. On this day, Trump will arrive at the Fulton County jail, where he will undergo standard detention procedures: he will be searched, photographed, and fingerprinted.

This case will be the first in which Trump will be required to post $200,000 bail. Detention in three other criminal cases against the former American leader does not imply bail for release from custody. In addition, the agreement prohibits Trump from pressuring parties in the process, including "posts on social media or reposts of posts made by another individual on social media."

The first Republican Party presidential debate will take place on Wednesday night, but Trump has previously said he has no plans to take part in it.

Trump later confirmed that he will arrive in Georgia on Thursday to undergo the formal arrest process for election interference.

"I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.
