About 2,700 people are involved in extinguishing the forest fire in Canakkale Province, near the Dardanelles, reported the Turkish Ministry of Interior.

In addition, 8 airplanes, 26 helicopters, and around 640 land equipment are included in the firefighting.

A total of 72 people were evacuated from the nursing home of Saricaeli village.

Shipping in the Dardanelles has been temporarily stopped.

Meteorologists say the air temperature in Canakkale exceeds 30 degrees Celsius.
