It is very important that there are civilized discussions, relations, and developments within Artsakh. We are not in a position to fight for power and seats; the adversary will inevitably benefit from that. David Babayan, advisor to the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President and former foreign minister of Artsakh, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"Yes, there are people who are fighting for office [in Artsakh]; this is a terrible phenomenon. There are such people, but they are few. However, healthy forces should know how this will end," Babayan emphasized.
If there is no alternative to fundamental political changes, then those changes, according to him, should take place on the basis of the consensus of all political forces.
"The development of unified approaches has no alternative. The destruction of the institution of the parliament or the president [of Artsakh] would be a fatal blow. A call to disband any state body is a fatal blow to our statehood," added David Babayan.
