The Azerbaijani authorities have sentenced the three abducted university students from Nagorno-Karabakh to "administrative punishment."

"A criminal case has been opened in connection with the fact of insulting actions towards the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan," reports APA, citing the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.

"An international arrest warrant was issued” for Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan, and Levon Grigoryan, who were abducted today by Azerbaijanis at their illegal checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, “and a preventive measure of arrest was chosen against them by the court's decision."

"During the interrogation, they sincerely expressed remorse for their actions and pledged not to engage in such activities in the future. Considering the age of the accused individuals, their sincere remorse, and compliance with the requirements of procedural legislation, the principle of humanism has been applied, and the criminal prosecution against them has been terminated," the aforesaid Azerbaijani news agency added.

 By the court's decision, however, administrative arrest for ten days was imposed on them individuals.

"Following the execution of the administrative detention sentence, these individuals will be expelled from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan," APA added.
