The delegation from France—led by the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo—that arrived in Armenia visited the border area of Kornidzor.

The Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from on location that the members of this delegation got acquainted with the situation there, and toured the area where trucks carrying humanitarian cargo—including the ten trucks with cargo from France that arrived there today—are waiting to enter Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

The French delegation is accompanied by Armenia’s Syunik Province Governor Robert Ghukasyan, Artsakh Foreign Minister Sergey Ghazaryan, and Armenia’s Goris City Mayor Arush Arushanyan.

The mayor of Paris told reporters that they have come to see and understand the situation, so that they can see with their own eyes and attest to the fact that the Lachin corridor is closed. Also, she highlighted the importance of giving the situation the right assessment, and already some specialists call it the beginning of genocide

Aside from the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, the delegation that arrived in Armenia from France includes member of the French Senate Bruno Retailleau, French Armenian mayor of Strasbourg Jeanne Barseghian, and the heads of the French regions that provided the aforesaid aid for Artsakh.

Anne Hidalgo is escorting the convoy of ten trucks delivering French humanitarian aid to Artsakh.

The aforesaid convoy headed from Armenia’s capital Yerevan in the morning to the Kornidzor checkpoint area, the starting point of the Lachin corridor leading to Artsakh.

The aforementioned French humanitarian aid was allocated by Paris, as well as the Ile-de-France, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie, and Pays de la Loire regions of France.
