Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate recall of the country's ambassadors around the world, Reuters reports, citing Presidential Spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale.

"The president is determined to ensure that world-class efficiency and quality, will henceforth, characterize foreign and domestic service delivery to citizens, residents and prospective visitors alike," Ngelale said.

Tinubu's office has stated that Nigeria's permanent envoys to the United Nations in New York and Geneva are not subject to a "total recall" due to the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) scheduled for later this month.
Nigeria has 76 embassies, 22 high commissions and 11 consulates worldwide.
