Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, said that the current Japanese authorities are pursuing a course towards a new militarization of the country. The politician advised Tokyo to refrain from this action, emphasizing that it significantly complicates the situation in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), Life.ru reports.

“Japan must learn from the history, the memorable date we are celebrating today, and fully recognize the results of the World War II, do everything to prevent the third one from flaring up. [It should] give up militaristic plans for the benefit of its own people," Medvedev said.

According to him, Japan is actively bolstering its military infrastructure and acquiring foreign weaponry, including offensive weapons, with the assistance of American sponsors.
