DONETSK. – After returning from the Armenian national football team, Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk Club midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan spoke with the Club’s press service about the Armenian national squad’s recent final group match against Ireland in Euro 2012 qualifiers. He said everything is behind and now he thinks only about his club team, since important matches are ahead.      

Do you still have a feeling of injustice?

I do, but now that’s history. You can’t do anything. You need to think about future games. I can’t say anything more.

How did the fans welcome you in Armenia?

I can say exceptionally, although we were defeated.

Can we say Armenian experienced a football boom?

Yes. Everyone was watching our games and expecting victory. But it turned out that we could not. Nonetheless, everyone is content with the Armenian squad’s performance in the qualifiers. We did everything to advance, but something probably wasn’t enough.      

In its final Group B match in Euro 2012 qualifiers, Armenia’s national team on Tuesday played an away game in Dublin against Ireland. Armenia was defeated with a score of 2-1 and did not qualify for Euro 2012.
