Baku considers the statements by the international community about the Azerbaijani ban on the supply of food, medicine, and other necessary goods to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) unfounded.

Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the president of Azerbaijan, stated in an interview with Arab News that "there is no strangulation or blockade " of the Armenian residents of Karabakh.

"What Azerbaijan is suggesting is to have multiple roads. And one of the important roads is the Aghdam-Khankendi [(Stepanakert)] road. It is much more efficient and has more logistical capabilities to reach out to the Karabakh region because Azerbaijan has completely rebuilt it," Hajiyev added.

The Aghdam road, according to the aide of Azerbaijani president Aliyev, "will ensure integration, so Azerbaijan will have direct access to Khankendi and direct contact with Karabakh Armenians who in turn will also have a chance to use Azerbaijan’s major road system to reach other parts of Azerbaijan."
