Such steps can reduce to a certain extent the impact of the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on the social and living conditions of the people. Seyran Ohanyan, head of the opposition Armenia Faction of the National Assembly NA) and former defense minister of Armenia, told this to reporters in the NA Tuesday, referring to the fact that the cargo with Russian humanitarian aid from Akna (Aghdam) has reached Artsakh capital Stepanakert today.

"The movement of this vehicle, which entered Stepanakert through Akna, will provide an opportunity and according to the agreement, the Lachin corridor will be fully [re]opened. The new Lachin road that was built is not a corridor. And what do Armenia’s authorities think about it? However, that road should be opened and everything should be done, first of all on the international platforms, to force Azerbaijan so that this corridor is [re]opened. When a Russian vehicle passed through Akna, I believe this matter can also be put before the Russian authorities, so that they also take practical and clear steps to force Azerbaijan to [re]open the road," said the Armenian opposition MP.

And regarding the remark that after the opening of the Lachin corridor and the Akna road, Azerbaijan could again close the Lachin corridor and only the Aghdam road will remain, Ohanyan responded as follows: "There are always two guarantees. The first is national guarantees: the security system and our consolidation. I also mean the direct connection of Armenia’s authorities with the Artsakh authorities, as well as comprehensive support. The second is international guarantees, and here it seems the international guarantees have a greater role. Yes, Azerbaijan can commit violations at any time; that’s why the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh should do serious work also towards international guarantees, because the only opportunity to influence Azerbaijan today is international platforms."
