The opening concert of the annual "Armenia" International Music Festival being held by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will start at 7:30pm Thursday at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan, which will also herald the start of the orchestra's 2023/24 concert season.

This concert will be conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the latter informs.

To note, Sergey Smbatyan and his father, Armen Smbatyan, the former Ambassador of Armenia to Israel, are accused of large-scale fraud and damage to the state. House arrest has been selected as a preventive measure against Sergey Smbatyan.
