At the meeting between President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Vladimir Putin of Russia, satisfaction was expressed with the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, the press service of the Azerbaijani president of reported, according to Azerbaijani media.

Interregional cooperation was discussed as well.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of the North-South transport corridor, the growth of its potential and, in general, the increase in the amount of cargo transportation on this route—both by railway and motorway.

The successful development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere was emphasized, too.

The importance of expanding cooperation in agriculture was noted as well.

The activities of the intergovernmental state commission between Azerbaijan and Russia were underscored also.
