Ermeni Haber news agency reports on the termination of Turkish state financial support to the media belonging to the Armenian national minority in Turkey. Greek and Israeli media in the country also have lost funding, Rybar Telegram channel writes.

"It is no secret that the Turkish authorities actively fight against dissent, using behind-the-scenes pressure to influence the editorial policy of periodicals.

“As Bloomberg reported earlier, the once-independent Sabah newspaper, under pressure from the authorities, was sold to a consortium of businessmen led by the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which made the daily newspaper the mouthpiece of the government.

"Also, according to Turkish law, the state telecommunications agency (TiB) has the right to request the blocking of any publication on the internet without court approval.

"Perhaps, amid increasing media activity of the Turkish authorities and exaggerating the image of Erdogan as the protector of all Muslims, the fight against dissent in the country will become more noticeable. And the leadership of Turkey will gladly take advantage of the situation created around Karabakh, Cyprus and Israel to shut the mouths of those who disagree," writes Rybar.
