Georgia's main objective is to ensure peace and stability in the region with its two brotherly countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan, stated Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
According to him, Tbilisi successfully fulfills its role as an impartial player in the process between Yerevan and Baku.
"Georgia has always tried for many years to assume this natural role in that process; but it is a very difficult, complicated conflict. And it was through the [Georgian] prime minister and his personal relations with the leaders of the two countries that we have achieved a concrete result in the form of a mutually beneficial agreement for both countries," Darchiashvili said.
According to him, Armenia and Azerbaijan have started talking openly about the need for peace, signing a peace agreement, and their rhetoric is fully focused on peace.
"Together with our two friends and brotherly peoples, our main objective is to ensure peace and stability in the region," noted the Georgian FM.
