Over the past three years, one of the most discussed matters has been the unblocking of [regional] communications. During this time, various actions, conspiracies, etc. were attributed to us both in Armenia and outside its borders. The greatest political meaning of the "Crossroads of Peace" project is to visually show what exactly we want. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during Wednesday’s question-and-answer session in parliament with the Armenian government.

"During this period, there were various conversations related to the corridor. We [Armenia] introduced parameters into this idea, on which we exclusively held discussions and also expressed our position.

"No one can dispute that the army and armed forces are very important for security. But the number of countries in the world that can ensure their security can be counted on the fingers of one hand. So, the concept of security should be considered more broadly.

"The ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project [of Armenia] is all about security. There were problems in the security models we used," the Armenian PM said, in particular, and noted that there are very few developed countries in the world that can protect their security only with weapons.

According to Pashinyan, security in the world today is ensured, among other things, by communication, economy, culture, and mutual dependence. And this is exactly what the "Crossroads of Peace" project of Armenia is about, he assured.

"The good or bad geographical position of a country depends on [its] relations with its neighbors. We have no influence on the content of our geographic location. Our geographic location has always been determined for us by others; that's the problem. Do we want to determine ourselves our geographical position or not? And can we determine our geographical position or not? The ability to do so is also important. We believe that it is possible, we must make it possible," added the prime minister of Armenia.
