YEREVAN. – The army should not become the target of self-interested critics, ruling Republican Party MP Karen Avagyan said at the Parliament on Tuesday.

“I turned to the issue of the army for several times during the month. We all were proud when our servicemen marched at the Republic Square on the Day of Independence. However, the critics of the Armed Forces not only keep silent but also continue their campaign. Trying to weaken Army, one tries to weaken himself. Servicemen are also defending families of those critics,” MP stated.

Regarding peace demonstrations of those parents, whose sons died in the army, MP said that there are people who try to use the human tragedy for their interests and gain popularity. They should understand that Army is a holy thing, concluded the MP.
