U.S. and European armed forces must leave the vulnerable West Asian region or they will face a reaction, "especially from the axis of resistance," Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani warned, Tasnim reported.

The Iranian minister advised foreign countries to withdraw their armed forces from the region and avoid inflaming tensions.

He said West Asia is a very important, strategic and sensitive region as energy transmission lines pass through it.

He reminded the US of its "strategic mistakes and miscalculations" regarding the region, noting that its biggest mistake was "supporting the criminal Zionist regime in its brutal attack on Gaza."

"The US should keep in mind that it will certainly pay the price for all these atrocities," the Iranian defense minister said.
