The people who planned and carried out the de-Armenianization of Nagorno-Karabakh consider that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has been resolved and the issue of Armenia should be resolved as well. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted this in an interview with Public Television.

"The leaders of Armenia in [19]90-[19]91 did not say that we need independence to have a state, but we need an independent state to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Here is the most important problem.

"Now the speakers of the [Armenian] opposition declare that the existence of Armenia without Nagorno-Karabakh has no meaning, as the statehood of Armenia was created to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. That is, if the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was resolved, what would be the fate of Armenia after that issue was resolved?

"There were calls from other countries to change power in Armenia. Those people who made those calls, they considered that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was resolved with the ethnic cleansing of [Armenians of] Nagorno-Karabakh, and therefore, the issue of Armenia should also be resolved. That is, the concept should reach its conclusion, lackey authorities should be established in Armenia, which will say: ‘Well, it turned out that the existence of Armenia is meaningless now,’" said the PM of Armenia.

And asked whether it is true that they called him and said that after the events of September 19, we should attack Azerbaijan, Pashinyan answered: "There was no such conversation; there were other conversations that could mean. And perhaps if transferred from the conceptual level to the practical level, yes, it can be interpreted that way."
