YEREVAN. - Yerevan streets will soon be equipped with video surveillance cameras.

The first surveillance cam will be installed on Komitas-Vagharshyan crossroad in these days, head of the Armenian Road Police Norik Sargsyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to Sargsyan, 10 surveillance cameras will be installed on heavy traffic crossroads, while speedometers will be installed in 15 active places. Technological innovations will ease work of Road Police and raise the discipline of both policemen and participants of traffic.

The surveillance cams will be installed by Swedish Sensik Trafic Company. The agreement is signed for 25 years, while investments make €9.8 million.
