The matter of deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh no longer concerns the Armenian side. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the press conference following the results of participation in UN Security Council events.
"We [i.e. Russia] really have peacekeepers there, even after everyone recognized Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory. But this matter no longer concerns the Armenian side; this is an issue of bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan," Lavrov emphasized.
According to the Russian FM, the presidents have discussed this topic, and they have agreed that the presence of Russian peacekeepers at this phase plays a positive role in strengthening stability, strengthening confidence in the region, and facilitating the return of Karabakh residents who wish to do so.
