Not only the Czech Republic, but also all international partners should exert as much pressure as possible to bring peace to the region. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated this during a joint news press conference with the visiting President of the  Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Marketa Pekarova Adamova, in Yerevan Wednesday.

The NA speaker emphasized that Armenia has repeatedly said that it is ready and doing everything to establish lasting peace in the region.

"But we see that our neighboring country [i.e. Azerbaijan] does not stand out so much in that respect. The international community must respond clearly to all the steps that are aimed at to the failure to establish that peace. Azerbaijan has repeatedly refused the meetings being proposed on various international platforms. I have the impression that during this period, Azerbaijan is deliberately buying time in the matter of completing the peace process. In the event that there is a political will, I do not see any drastic reason that can prevent the peace agreement based on equality and all the principles that were agreed with the president of Azerbaijan and the prime minister [of Armenia] in July in the presence of [European Council President] Charles Michel, from being implemented. We don't understand how it is possible to come to an agreement, have a statement made by Charles Michel, and not have to this day a peace agreement based on these fundamental principles," stated the Armenian parliament speaker.

He added that Armenia will continue its efforts to establish peace.
