In all issues related to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the implementation of tripartite agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, one should first of all focus on the assessments of the Russian foreign ministry, first of all, of the foreign minister, which are given on a daily basis. As much material as we provide on the website and through our briefings, it would be good if we were as careful about every word [FM] Sergey Lavrov says, and all the material we publish. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this in a press briefing Wednesday, in response to a reporter's request to comment on which “terrorists” are being referred to in an interview with the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan, who recalled Azerbaijan's "antiterrorist operation," considering that the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and the only road to Nagorno-Karabakh were under the control of Russian peacekeepers.

"Unfortunately, most of the materials seem to be invisible, including to a number of Armenia’s media. For some reason, what we say is positive, constructive, we present facts, figures of cooperation, it does not arouse interest. As much data and figures were given, try to find in which Armenian media this was reflected on. And why?" Zakharova continued.

The Russian MFA representative noted that this is something that does not raise any questions, but these are facts, the truth that reflects the realities of the day.

Zakharova emphasized that since the date of their deployment, in accordance with the tripartite agreements at the highest level of November 9, 2020, the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh have conscientiously performed or are performing all the functions that have been implemented.

She added that these media in the form of fakes present the Russian approach to both regional politics and bilateral relations in an offensive, demeaning, and false way.

"We [i.e. Russia] are interested in building bilateral relations [with Armenia] for the benefit of the main recipient: the people of both countries. We are interested in this, and I have presented you with concrete facts. Sadly, these specific facts do not cause the same excitement in the same channels, which are mainly related to pro-government structures in Yerevan," said the official representative of the Russian MFA.
