Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in Cairo, the PM’s office informs.

The head of the League of Arab States emphasized cooperation with the Armenian government on various international matters, including for the purpose of presenting positions and views. Ahmed Aboul Gheit mentioned the centuries-old close ties between the Armenian and Arab peoples, which is a good basis for the development of cooperation.

In his speech, the Armenian premier reflected on the processes taking place in the South Caucasus, the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, and the humanitarian problems of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. Also, Pashinyan presented details about the Crossroads of Peace project developed by the Armenian government, and added that Armenia is ready to unblock regional transport communications—and based on the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, reciprocity, and equality.
