It is very important for NATO to have a stable peaceful settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated an interview with Azerbaijani media during his visit to Azerbaijan.
Stoltenberg added that he welcomes Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statement Sunday, where he stated that they are now closer to a peace agreement than ever before. There are still some issues that need to be resolved, the NATO chief noted, but said he truly hopes that both Azerbaijan and Armenia will use this opportunity to agree on a peace agreement, and to create conditions for a lasting peace, which is important for international security, added Stoltenberg.
