YEREVAN. – The Police Service of Armenia came up with comments regarding armed assault of aforeign currency exchange office in Yerevan downtown on Wednesday evening. 

Senior Investigator of the Central Police Department Suren Hakobyan told reporters that the alert of the attack was received around 19.00. A task force dispatched for the scene at once.

"They revealed that an exchange office was attacked and two civilians got gunshot wounds. Operational investigative measures are underway,” said the officer, leaving the identity of victims undisclosed, referring to the interests of the investigation.

Nevertheless, Armenian News-NEWS.am clarified the identities of the victims. These are exchange office employees Radik Viroyan, 40, and Levon Avetisyan, 52. According to our information, both were wounded in the legs. The men were taken to St. Gregory the Illuminator medical center in Yerevan. Their lives are not in danger.

Earlier Armenian News - NEWS.am reported that the unknown men carried out an armed assault of a foreign currency exchange office in Yerevan downtown. The criminals forces away the cash desk money and escaped, firing several shots. 

The police discovered used cartridges from a Makarov pistol.
