The US Department of State continues to pay close attention to the demarcation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, noted this at Tuesday’s Department press briefing—and commenting on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan statement about the need for quick demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan.
According to Patel, not just US Secretary of State Antony Blinken focuses on the matter of demarcation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
"(…) this is an issue that we are continuing to pay close attention to. It’s something that not just the Secretary but Assistant Secretary [James] O’Brien [i.e. US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs] as well as Senior Coordinator [Luis] Bono [i.e. the US Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations] are continuing to focus on, engaging with appropriate interlocutors," said the Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department.
