An interview in Buenos Aires with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was broadcast on the Argentine Todo Noticias television and online. Spokesperson of the Armenian foreign ministry, Ani Badalyan, reported this and publicized a part of this interview.
FM Mirzoyan commented on the prospects of expanding cooperation between Armenia and Argentina, the respective discussions held during his official visit to Argentina, as well as the security situation in the South Caucasus. In the latter’s context, it was noted about the Armenian ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani invasions of the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as the existing challenges and the efforts of Armenia aimed at addressing them.
"There are complications, there are challenges, of course, but we believe that it is possible to reach the signing of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. On our part, we are making constructive efforts to find solutions. When we talk about signing a treaty, there are important points on which there must be mutual agreement. Among them is the mutual recognition of territorial integrity and delimitation of borders based on the Alma Ata declaration of 1991," the Armenian FM said, in particular.
Mirzoyan responded also to questions regarding Armenia's partnership with the European Union and NATO and several other questions.
