Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez told members of the media that Spain will officially recognize Palestine as an independent state in the near future, ISRA reported.

Sanchez pledged to recognize Palestine's independence by July in the presence of accompanying reporters during his trip to Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

He plans to simultaneously work for the recognition of Israel by the Arab countries that have not yet done so, El Pais reported.

Spain is trying to find allies regarding the recognition of Palestinian statehood and independence. Two weeks ago, a joint declaration was issued by Spain, Slovenia, Ireland, and Malta. The document stated that these countries will recognize Palestine as an independent state when the circumstances are suitable.
