US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani media report.

Blinken said that he received reports that the tripartite meeting to be held between the US, the European Union (EU), and Armenia on Friday caused concern on the Azerbaijani side, and therefore he considered it important to clarify the matter by talking to President Aliyev.

The US Secretary of State pointed out that the main essence of this meeting will be the economic development of Armenia.
