European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani media report.

During the telephone conversation, the issue of the trilateral meeting to be held in Brussels on 5 April was raised. Ilham Aliyev, as in his conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, expressed the position of the Azerbaijani side on this meeting and noted the importance of regional inclusiveness.

The sides also discussed prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

As a reminder, a trilateral meeting between Nikol Pashinyan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is scheduled for 5 April.
